it's been wayyy too long since i've seen the movie, i may be a little rusty!! sorry. headcanons under cut!

he is the absolute best at being a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on! he lets you sit with him while he gives you a mug of tea or cocoa, and then when you've calmed down, he asks if you want advice

he keeps some kids books in his desk for you. alice in wonderland, the secret garden, you name it. sometimes after classes are over, you'll cuddle with him as he reads to you by candlelight

speaking of reading aloud, he does all the voices! anything to be silly and creative and make you laugh <3

he always encourages you to be daring, but he's very careful to make sure you do it safely and don't do anything really dangerous

if you want, he will help you climb up on his desk with him! he'll let you hold his hand if you're scared

he reads poetry to you, and writes his own for you! if you write one, he'll praise it to no end, calling it a literary masterpiece

Pt. 5 of Dead Poets Society Headcanons, age regression edition

Charlie, even tho he’s the clown of the group, is also the main caregiver of the boys when they regress

Todd often regresses due to anxiety

Neil often regresses due to stress, which happens more often than he wants to admit

The first time Neil regressed in front of Charlie he was complaining about his dad

Charlie wasn’t sure what to do but he noticed the regression and just started treating him with what was appropriate with how he was acting

Todd was really nervous to tell Neil that he regresses, and the first time it happened and he came out of it, he apologized over and over again

Meeks is the secondary caregiver and is usually first to notice when one of them regresses

Todd, even tho he’s often quiet, makes little childlike noises when he regresses, he tries to hide them sometimes but Meeks knows better

Neil’s eyes go sort of soft and blurry and his motor control isn’t as great

Pitts is also an age regressor, although it happens less frequently than Neil and Todd

Only Meeks knows about Pitts regression, and calls him baby boy when he does regress

Knox had no idea how to handle the boys when they regress when it first started, but soon he became Todd’s favourite one to play with when he regressed

Cameron wasn’t sure what age regression was, and at first thought it was a bit silly. Until he had a long talk with Neil about it. And now even he regresses sometimes

Cameron only regresses when he’s alone tho. He doesn’t feel safe telling the other boys. Even tho he knows Charlie would take care of him if he knew

Neil had a special stuffy for when he regresses, its a stuffed giraffe

Todd also had a special stuffy for when he regresses, its a stuffed bunny that Neil gave him, its name is Neil

Todd becomes very cuddly when he regresses, Charlie likes it when Todd curls up on his lap and he plays with Todd’s hair

Neil can be a brat sometimes when he regresses. Charlie knows not to push, he knows age regression is a safe place for Neil so he tries to be calming and understanding

Knox likes giving Neil and Todd piggy back rides when they regress

One time, after a very stressful exam week, Cameron accidentally regressed in front of Charlie in their room. Charlie spotted it because Cameron was giggling and Cameron does not giggle, and then he put his shirt in his mouth and started sucking on it. Charlie went straight into action mode, he grabbed the things he has for Neil and Todd when they regress and played caregiver for Cameron

When Cameron came out of it, he didn’t admit it at first, refusing to admit that he was an age regressor but finally admitted it because Charlie’s hands in his hair felt far too nice for it to stop

Sometimes after a rough week, Pitts makes a blanket fort in his and Meeks’ room to help Meeks regress and calm down. Meeks will crawl into the blanket fort and cuddle against Pitts as Pitts reads him a book, usually something nerdy or sci-fi

Meeks also has a pacifier, its green and has a decal of the pi symbol, because even when little, he’s a math nerd

(Writing all of these headcanons makes me want to write a fanfiction based off of them? What do yall think?)

Saw your post about a photography service for kiddos and CGs and i started thinking up an entire rant like:

let's go a step further... an entire ✨town✨ like it'd have li'l schools and the playground equipment would be sized-up and agere/agedre/petre/petdre supplies would be readily available and all that jazz... it'd be a safe space yes but also a fully-functional and operational one so people can be safe and comfy and still have access and opportunity to feel like 100% part of a community/in-group/society regardless of headspace and there'd be a lot less stigma too cuz everyone in the town would know what's up like a safe haven but your safe haven is now a functioning society

That would be so lovely!!

This or at least a little commune/ gated community! :0

People would wear pins with their pronouns and preferred pet names (if they so choose).

You could buy agere/ petre gear in logal shops, without having to browse through NSFW sides, aimed at k1nk communities.

There would be babysitter & petsitter services and daycare.

People would go on play dates, where the CG's/ handlers talk and gush over their kiddos/ pets, said kiddos/ pets can play together and flips do whatever they feel like at the time!

Even folks without a CG, kiddo, handler or pet would be integrated, sort of like "it takes a village to raise a child" approach.. everyone helps everyone.

Cg!Charlie x Little!Dead Poets

He did not start out as one of the group Caregivers

He was kind of like a fun uncle instead

Originally, Neil, Meeks, and Mr. Keating were the only three who would look after the Poets

They didn't really trust any of the others to be fully responsible with them, even if they didn't say it

So they would rotate schedules, and it worked pretty well for a while

Eventually, there was a particularly stressful day that sent both Neil and Meeks into an involuntary regression and Mr. Keating was in and out of Parent Teacher conferences all day

The others really didn't know what to do, so Charlie stepped in

He made sure Neil and Meeks were comforted and happy and spent the whole day taking care of them and any of the others who had regressed

And when Mr. Keating came to check on them that night, he found them all in a sleeping pile in Charlie's room

After thar, Charlie just slowly became one of the main group Caregivers

The others would come to him for snuggles or comfort or even just to play a silly game

And he took to it like it was second nature

General Cg!Charlie Headcannons

As seen in the movie, he's a silly guy, but he can be serious when needed

This is also true when he is Caregiving

He's very good at distracting his Littles, keeping their minds off of their Big responsibilities and helping them stay regressed.

He's a very big fan of using your imagination, and he loves getting his Littles to tell him a story instead of the other way around

He has specific toys and boxes set aside for each of the other Poets with things he knows they love, sensory things, stuffies, books, even some snacks whenever he can sneak them in

His style of Caregiving tends to vary slightly from Poet to Poet, he's very good at adapting to their specific needs

However the one thing that stays true is that he is very protective of his Littles

He doesn't like when people are rude or even teasing to them and tends to snap right back

When the Littles are regressed he usually just keeps them in one of their rooms to play, but that can get cramped so he also takes them out to the green areas on campus or even the cave

He makes sure to keep a close eye on all of them, as one time Pitts and Meeks snuck off and somehow ended up in the river

He started to become much more cautious after becoming one of the group Caregivers, always keeping bandaids in his pockets and a close eye on his Poets.

He prefers it when one of the other Cgs are with him to help keep the group in check, but it's not a necessity!

Cg!Charlie x Little!Meeks 🔬🎵

Charlie and Meeks have always been close

And before he became a group Cg, Charlie was Meeks's Cg

Meeks was a bit jealous about all of the attention Charlie was giving the others, but after a long conversation they sorted it out

While Charlie is not very good at science, he puts a lot of effort into making little experiments for Meeks (with a lot of help from Pitts)

Meeks especially likes things that he can physically see, like mini eruptions, changes in color, fizzing, any kind of reaction

Charlie actually absorbs quite a bit of knowledge from these "experiments ", and it helps him in class

Meeks isn't very big on cuddling, unless he's tired. Then he's practically a snuggle bug

Charlie's a very physically affectionate Cg, but he tones it down with Meeks as it's really not his thing

Cg Nicknames: Papa, Dada

Little Nicknames: Bub, Firefly, Dr. Smarts (when he's feelin silly)

Cg!Charlie × Little!Neil 🎭💭

Usually, Neil tries to keep his feelings subdued and make himself smaller

But not with Charlie

Charlie knows exactly what to do to make Neil let loose without any worries

Which actually ends up being a bit more of an issue as now Neil is running around and letting out all the emotions he can't when he's big

But Charlie would rather he be a bit rambunctious than keep his emotions bottled up

Neil also doesn't have much of a filter when he's small, so Charlie tends to keep a much closer eye on him and who he's talking to

He reminds him that sometimes his opinions can be taken as a bit rude, but at the end of the day he always means we'll so Charlie decides not to stress too hard about it

Neil also doesn't really have to talk for Charlie to know what he needs

It's almost second nature at this point

He'll be tired and scoot up to Charlie, only to be scooped up into his arms and rocked gently until he falls asleep

Little Nicknames: Baby, Little Guy, Sleepy Head

Cg!Charlie x Little!Knox 🌩💤

Knox is a very grumpy Little

Which is just fine with Charlie, he loves the challenge of making him laugh

Surefire ways of cheering up Knox include: picking him up and spinning in a circle, playing pretend, reading him a silly story and (if all else fails) just sitting there and listening

Sometimes Knox needs a healthy outlet for his big emotions, which Charlie is happy to give him

He gives him paper to write on, draw on, even to rip up

9 times out of 10, it helps get most of the icky feelings out

He sets a pretty strict bed time up for Knox, as if he doesn't sleep he gets a bit snappy

The bed time routine is Knox's favorite part of the day when he's regressed

He takes a shower and gets into his comfiest pajamas, Charlie brings his special blanket to tuck him in, reads him a story, and then holds him till he falls asleep

It's the perfect end to a usually stressful day

Cg!Charlie x Little!Todd✒️🐤

While Todd and Charlie have known each other for the shortest amount of time out of all the Poets, Todd imprinted on him very fast

As such, Charlie is very protective of him

If they're outside he keeps Todd close to his side, which is fine because Todd doesn't want to go anywhere else

While Todd is very shy when big, and usually also when regressed, he's not with Charlie

He'll babble on for hours while Charlie brushes his hair or helps him fold clothes

Charlie finds that if he or Neil are in the room, Todd is a lot more outgoing with the other Poets

He does tend to cling a bit, mostly holding Charlie's hand or the hem of his shirt

Charlie thinks it's adorable

He and Todd tend to talk a lot about stories and poetry, especially when Todd is regressed

He'll bring his notebook for Charlie to look through, pointing out specific passages he's proud of or sometimes even getting Neil to act out a verse for him

Charlie thinks it's the best thing in the world

He keeps little gold star stickers in his room to stick in the notebook

Pitts is a very quiet regressor when he's not with Meeks

Not really shy, just quiet

Charlie doesn't really know how to interact with him at first, as Pitts would just kind of stare up at him with big, curious eyes whenever he'd try to start a conversation

Eventually he realised that all Pitts really wanted was to be talked to, even if he didn't respond

After that, Charlie would just talk to him whenever he was around, chattering about his day, or the cafeteria food, or even the day's Latin lesson

Pitts loves it

He also loves whenever Charlie makes It his mission to get him to giggle

That always leads to a fun day

Charlie is also the only one who can watch both Pitts and Meeks at the same time by himself, as they can be quite chaotic

These two had the hardest time trusting each other

Mostly because Cameron thought Charlie hated him when he was big, so he tended to shy away from him while regressed

This made Charlie realise he was being a bit too harsh on him and try to tone it down

Eventually the two had to have a long discussion because Cameron ran off to the cave by himself because he thought Charlie was mad at him

Charlie reassured him and told him he wasn't in trouble, he didn't hate him, and everything would be okay

After that, Cameron was much more comfortable around him

In fact, Charlie is the only Cg that Cameron will let pick him up

Charlie makes sure to slip lots of positive reassurances into their conversations

Cameron is a big babbler when regressed, so most of the time he and Todd will just sit on the floor with Charlie and babble away

Charlie always makes sure to be very interested in whatever they are talking about.

🌻 note: i headcanon neil as a caregiver because throughout the movie he's constantly trying to get control of his own life and make his own decisions and i just think taking care of someone really fits him (considering how badly he wanted to take care of and cheer up todd!!) neil's favourite activities to do with his bubba (neil) are: walking around the school grounds & surrounding woods, reading poetry and playing pretend, he loves the drama of some of the scenarios todd comes up with. he calls todd bubba/bub/bubby and likes being called papa!! he writes letters when he's in a caregiver mindset that todd takes home with him over the holidays or anytime he's away from the school/neil. he's insanely good at doing voices when he's reading a story to todd. he's huge on physical touch and will always be reaching for todds hand to guide him around, sitting with todd nestled into his side and giving the boy forehead pecks when he's done something good (and randomly, he just loves making the boy feel cared for.)
